Imagine the Possibilities Tour – Awareness Day

This year for Economic Development Awareness Day, we are partnering with the Texas Historical Commission and inviting everyone to Imagine the Possibilities.

Join us on October 5 in Pilot Point, TX, as we show you our commercial offerings and invite you to become part of our town. Nestled on the banks of Ray Roberts Lake State Park and in the heart of North Texas Horse Country, Pilot Point has so much to offer for outdoor recreation and unique local attractions, once you’ve closed up shop for the day.

Awareness Day Schedule

10 am – Kickoff (Clifton & Nadene Irick Museum | 201 S Jefferson)
10:30 am – Guided Bus Tour of Commercial and Residential Developments
11:45 pm – Lunch (The Sterling Event Center | 106 W Main)
12 pm – 4 pm – Imagine the Possibilities Self-Guided Tour of Downtown

Imagine the Possibilities Locations / Schedule

Cities across Texas invite potential investors, downtown developers, entrepreneurs, and residents looking to be part of downtown’s transformation to “Imagine the Possibilities“. This statewide event began in 2017 with the launch of to promote the site and connect available historic properties with interested new stewards. The concentrated statewide effort creates synergy and excitement for Texas’ historic downtowns, allows participants special access to spaces, and provides insider information from experienced downtown professionals.

Fast Facts about Pilot Point:

  • Surveyed Christmas Day 1853, making it the oldest settlement in Denton County
  • City certified in February 1854 and recorded by Denton County in June 1854
  • Home of the oldest brick building in Denton County
  • Primary architecture style: Italianate
  • Commercial Historic District has been on the National Registry of Historic Places since 2009

Here in Pilot Point, we are not just imagining the possibilities for our commercial properties in our Historic District, but also the District itself. Eikon Architecture did this rendering of what our Square could look like with a defined shape and additional green and event space.
