Denco Area 9-1-1 District

Denco Area 9-1-1 works behind the scenes to connect emergency callers with the services they need. Since 1987, Denco Area 9-1-1 District has been hard at work implementing and refining the technologies, protocols, training programs, and community outreach initiatives that equip 9-1-1 telecommunicators to direct first responders to the scene — swiftly and skillfully — throughout Denton County. Our staff works behind the scenes in support of 9 emergency communications centers, or ECCs, along with more than 50 public service agencies.

The latest project for Denco Area 9-1-1 is indoor mapping. They have initiated a region-wide project to create indoor maps for buildings in our district. These maps improve emergency response times and increase situational awareness for First Responders by displaying floors, rooms, corridors, entrances, exits and other emergency features.

Schools, government buildings, apartment complexes and commercial buildings are currently being mapped for your local public safety agencies.

How to help

Using pdf / dwg / jpg graphics, Denco will convert your building floorplan into an indoor map for integration with public safety applications. The addition of indoor maps can save lives by decreasing response time for First Responders.
