Opportunities

Pilot Point is a unique city known for the thriving cabinet, countertop and millwork industry. Pilot Point and the surrounding area also home to more than 350 working horse ranches, featuring everything from Thoroughbreds and world champion quarter horses to Appaloosas and Arabians. As the city grows, it looks forward to including new industry and attracting entrepreneurs to the area.

The Pilot Point Municipal Development District (PPMDD) is a non-profit corporation for purposes to be accomplished on behalf of the City of Pilot Point, Texas.

On May 1, 2021, the qualified voters of the City of Pilot Point voted to terminate the City’s type B economic development corporation (the “EDC”) and the EDC’s one-half percent (.5%) sales tax to the City’s newly authorized Pilot Point Municipal District (the “MDD”). Voter approval of the EDC termination and creation of the MDD results in no net change to the City’s total sales tax rate, but will include an imposition of the MDD’s sales tax in the City’s corporate boundaries and extraterritorial jurisdiction.

In accordance with state law, the MDD Board is responsible for the proper discharge of its assigned duties. The Board determines its policies and directives within the limitations of the duties imposed by applicable laws, the Articles, these Bylaws, contracts entered into with the City, and budget and fiduciary responsibilities.
