Coffee with the City Manager | July 20

Britt Lusk invites you to have a cup of joe with him the third Thursday of every month, between 7am-9am at the Coffee House.
Britt welcomes questions, ideas, or just casual conversation and plans to offer Coffee with the City Manager on a regular basis.

Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber is a non-profit organization composed of businesses and individuals who wish to see Pilot Point grow and flourish. By pooling their resources, Chamber members are able to exert a positive influence on the community. Our main goal is to find ways to showcase what Pilot Point has to offer.

PointBank Business Breakfast

Every month, PointBank invites members of the business community to their monthly Business Breakfast, hosted at the Pilot Point Branch Community Center (739 E Liberty St). Bringing insightful business tips to the small business owners in Denton County.

TWU Center for Woman Entrepreneurs Workshops & Gatherings

AccelerateHER Incubator Program

The AccelerateHER incubator program helps early-stage companies develop and test ideas to grow their businesses with a hands-on focus by the program manager, mentors and partner networks.

Through AccelerateHER, women-owned businesses will be selected to receive work space at Stoke, a coworking facility in Denton serving entrepreneurs, remote workers, freelancers, small businesses, and tech-enabled companies. In addition, participants will receive intensive business development training, access to funders and mentorship, and networking opportunities. Participants of the program must show proof that a minimum of 51% of the business is owned by a woman.

Deadline to apply is July 9, 2023.

Tarsha Hearns, The DEC Network

Tarsha Hearns is the Sr. Director of Ecosystems at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center, a 501c3 nonprofit that drives innovation and economic impact by helping entrepreneurs start, build and grow their businesses. As senior director, Tarsha leads a team that provides business support services to entrepreneurs seeking to start or grow their businesses. In addition, she manages the Community Navigator Dallas program, a federally funded program by the Small Business Administration, which connects entrepreneurs to business support and financial resources in their community.

Tarsha is an engaged member of the small business community and has received numerous awards for her entrepreneurial endeavors, leadership, and dedication to serving women and minority founders. Professionally known as The Marketing Lady, Tarsha has 20+ years as an entrepreneur and lists winning a contract with the National Football League for Super Bowl XLV as her biggest career-defining moment. Yet, her passion is to inspire people to live their dreams through entrepreneurship.

Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program

Starting February 1, 2023, a new application category will open for the Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant (TTIR) program through the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office. The TTIR Program provides one-time grants of up to $20,000 for the recovery of Texas businesses in the tourism, travel, and hospitality industry that were negatively impacted during the pandemic.

Governor’s Small Business Summit

The Governor’s Small Business Summit aims to help Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs reach new heights by connecting them with the resources and information needed to start, strengthen and grow a business. This event offers a variety of sessions bringing together local, state and federal resource partners to provide key insights on critical business topics. It’s also an opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely, relevant and actionable advice on a multitude of small business subjects.
