TX Women-Owned Incubator Program
The Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the TX Women Owned Incubator Program in partnership with The Slate.
This incubator program is specifically for women-owned start-ups in the Dallas area and will provide early-stage entrepreneurs with resources and education to fast-track their start-ups into scalable and successful businesses.
Six Dallas-area woman owned businesses will be selected for an intensive program that is co-facilitated by The Slate and the TWU Center for Women Entrepreneurs.

In a world of endless documents, non-stop facts, and PowerPoints, stories always win. Storytelling is a leadership tool that motivates behavior. Mastering this skill creates an impact that sticks. Shelly will explain how to define, enhance, and build an effective communication strategy. Data persuades people, but stories make them act.

Nationally recognized journalist Shelly Slater has twenty years of experience getting to the point. As a multi Emmy Award-winning news anchor and reporter, she knows how to engage an audience. Her career has taken her from live breaking news to interviews with everyone from President George W. Bush to Jimmy Kimmel and Amal Clooney. Shelly now runs her own company to help corporations win business & trust by delivering a message that sticks. From lawyers to CEOs, and real estate groups, Shelly crafts stories that break through in a distracted world. Shelly has extensive experience in public speaking and presentation trainings to help both individuals and teams deliver a message that sticks. Shelly also co-founded The Slate, a new coworking space and production studio in the Dallas Design District.

Our panel of experts will provide up-to-date details on the EIDL application process and information on the increased debt limit, the extended deferment period and the simplified requirements to qualify. The virtual event will also feature a live Q&A with our expert panel, including senior executives from the SBA and Small Business Development Centers.
